Join the Office for Institutional Accessibility and ADA Compliance (OIA) for a virtual training conducted via Zoom. This introductory level training is designed for USC content creators who want to make their digital communications more accessible and inclusive for people with disabilities. Whether you’re crafting a document, building a presentation, posting on social media, or sending a listserv announcement, accessibility matters.

This session will cover essential best practices, including proper heading structure, descriptive hyperlinks, CamelCase for hashtags, meaningful alt text, effective image descriptions, logical reading order, and the impact of color, font, animations, and media. We’ll also explore how to create accessible content in Word and PowerPoint, touch on the challenges and tips for PDFs, and offer guidance for social media, listservs, and web content.

Participants will leave with practical strategies and a toolkit of accessibility checkers and resources to help ensure their content can be accessed and understood by all.
